Once every 10 years the gates open to the International Horticultural Exhibition Floriade. On the 14th of April the 2022 edition will start which will last till October 9th. This year’s theme is to show everyone a celebration of green solutions for living.
You will discover green solutions from national and international innovators and brainiacs that make our cities more fun, more beautiful, and more sustainable. You will also enjoy the scent and colors of flowers, plants, vegetables, and fruit. Dive into the theme
‘Growing Green Cities’ and learn more about developments in the field of greenery, food, health and energy.
• Floriade only takes place once every 10 years
• The site this year measures 600,000 m2/60 hectares
• Prognosis: 2 million consumers (85%) & professionals (15%)
• The first exhibition was held in 1910 (then called Flora Exhibitions).
The arboretum will constitute the expo’s green structure as well as that of the future urban district Hortus. It will be an alphabetically organised tree and plant encyclopaedia that you can walk through.
Dutch horticulture will present innovations and solutions for sustainable, liveable cities. Visitors will experience horticulture and have their senses stimulated by a huge variety of products and participants.

A celebration of green
The Floriade park will be a celebration of green and sustainable technology. New technologies for greenery, food, energy and health will be researched and implemented at this living laboratory. You will be touched by what they see, smell and taste.
Art and culture
Floriade Expo 2022 will provide art and a wide ranging cultural programmes. Exhibitions, live music from classical to jazz, entertainment and orchestras. The park will be full of energy and action.
Food outlets and shopping
There are plenty of opportunities for every visitor to grab a bite or a drink. A range of restaurants, food trucks and tastings will offer local products, healthy snacks and meals.
Cable car
Step into the 850-metre-long cable car and travel quickly between the southern and northern part of the Floriade park. On the way, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Floriade grounds from a height of 35 metres and you will be able to test the unique potential of urban cable cars as a sustainable means of transport. You want to be a part of this!
Countries
At the Expo you can visit country pavilions who show their culture, plants, flowers and local innovations. Have a look and get inspired by the other the participating countries; France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, China, Qatar, Belgium, Luxembourg & Italy
